Interesting points there Kathy. As someone who is scalping the EU regularly, you were spot on with your analysis. I do notice that the Euro responds more to the fundamental news compared to technical analysis.

and in some countries, you can ask- what recession?
    for example, in Oz,
    1) the 3 most recent take up of the Fed’s USD swaps have been under-subscribed, with one receiving no bids at all.
    2) RBA didn’t lower the interest rate.
    3) Oz banks remain profitable, and fully funded
    4) AUD sovereign CDS rates not climbing like many others,
    5) 25 risk reversals and other market maker sentiment indicators positive
    6) commodities beginning to turn up: Baltic dry up, US ISM up from bottom, oil showing support (although DJC still low)
    7) China (Oz leading customer) leading indicators showing recovery probably underway (China PMI up, M2 recovered, spot Fe ore up)

U.S. crude stocks fell 700 kb last week, confounding the consensus market forecast for a rise of 1.2 mln.b. Gasoline demand continued its recovery, averaging 9.03 mln.b/d over the past four weeks, up 2.2 % compared with the same period a year ago. Its stocks rose 200 kb compared with the consensus forecast for a drop of 800 kb. Also distillate inventories rose 1.7mln.b, against the consensus forecast for a fall of 700 kb.
