I was on Fox Business this morning with Alexis Glick talking about inflation in the rest of the world.
Not really relevant to us trading G-10 currencies, but nonetheless fun and interesting.

Kathy
I agree that inflation is a global problem right now. I think inflation is a big part of why the dollar has been weak. Countries perfer a strong currency to help lesson the blows of inflation.
I think that the dollar will turn in the coming weeks?
Any thoughts?

Arent you assuming that inflation is the major concern of the Fed. Would it not be more beneficial for the Fed to weaken the dollar to help with the US trade deficit? On on an unrelated note Kathy thanks for introducing me to the Baltic Dry Index.

The US trade deficit has been a problem for the US dollar for the past 10 years. If anything, the trade deficit is no longer hitting record highs. For Bernanke, weak growth and high inflation are far bigger concerns right now
